Don Bosco Mission – Pedaboddepalli thanks the members of the Provincial chapter V 2004 for their deliberation (c.2.f) to initiate presences in the districts where we are not present, especially in the coastal and agency areas. Accepting the long pending invitation of the then archbishop of Vishakhapatnam- his Grace Archbishop Kagithapu Mariadas DD, the Salesians decided to start an institution in Pedaboddepalli. 

The BIRDY team from Hyderabad conducted a survey on the need of the area and people presented a report on 24th April 2005 stating that the need of the area is Higher Education of the tribal, rural poor and marginalized. Thus, the Provincial Chapter VI 2007 – declared Don Bosco Mission Pedaboddepalli as a centre for Higher Education. In June 2005, Fr. Provincial, Rev. Fr. Madhichetty Noel, The Provincial Economer Fr. T. V. Anthony, Fr. KT Jose, the Rector of St. Johns Regional Seminary, Kondadaba, Fr. P.K. Jose, the then in-charge of the Pedaboddepalli Mission, met his Grace, Most Rev. 

Bp Kagitapu Mariadas, the Archbishop of Visakhapatnam and orally requested him to register the land in our name. True to his word His Grace Archbishop Kagithapu Mariadas DD had given 10 acres and 23 ½ cents land. And the same was registered on 28th Febrauary 2006 in the name of The Hyderabad Don Bosco Society.  

On 17th June 2006, Fr. Jose Parokaran was sent to the new mission to study the modalities of starting the tribal work and the education programme. On 5th September 2006 a new society was registered by name, “The Narsipatnam John Bosco Society”, with the number, 1328 of 2006. The Community was canonically erected in 20013, with Fr.Madanu Rayappa as the first Rector.
