Don Bosco Mission – Pedaboddepalli thanks the members of the Provincial chapter V 2004 for their deliberation (c.2.f) to initiate presences in the districts where we are not present, especially in the coastal and agency areas. Accepting the long pending invitation of the then archbishop of Vishakhapatnam- his Grace Archbishop Kagithapu Mariadas DD, the Salesians decided to start an institution in Pedaboddepalli.
The BIRDY team from Hyderabad conducted a survey on the need of the area and people presented a report on 24th April 2005 stating that the need of the area is Higher Education of the tribal, rural poor and marginalized. Thus, the Provincial Chapter VI 2007 – declared Don Bosco Mission Pedaboddepalli as a centre for Higher Education. In June 2005, Fr. Provincial, Rev. Fr. Madhichetty Noel, The Provincial Economer Fr. T. V. Anthony, Fr. KT Jose, the Rector of St. Johns Regional Seminary, Kondadaba, Fr. P.K. Jose, the then in-charge of the Pedaboddepalli Mission, met his Grace, Most Rev.
Bp Kagitapu Mariadas, the Archbishop of Visakhapatnam and orally requested him to register the land in our name. True to his word His Grace Archbishop Kagithapu Mariadas DD had given 10 acres and 23 ½ cents land. And the same was registered on 28th Febrauary 2006 in the name of The Hyderabad Don Bosco Society.

On 5th September 2006 a new society was registered by name, “The Narsipatnam John Bosco Society”, with the number, 1328 of 2006. The Community was canonically erected in 20013, with Fr.Madanu Rayappa as the first Rector.
On 28th May 2007, Fr. Madanu Rayappa was appointed as one in charge of the mission. We got the permission from the Intermediate Board on 15th September 2008 to start the Junior College. On 31st August the foundation stone was laid for the Salesian Residence. The Sisters of St. Joseph of Annecy of Visakhapatnam Province agreed to collaborate with us by setting up a new community and sent three sisters – one to help in the College, one to help in the social work and one to help in the hostel for the girls. Gradually the degree college(2011), the hostel for the boys (2010) and the hostel for the girls cum residence for the sisters (2016) were constructed.
Another land mark in the history of the institution is the starting of the PG with MSC – Organic Chemistry in 2018. After Fr. Madanu Rayappa as the Rector, Fr. Valiyakattel Benny Mathew was appointed as the Rector in May 2019. The hard and dedicated work of the Salesians and the staff paved way for the growth of the institution in quality and quantity. We are sure the institution is going to stand tall in molding the lives of the young people in this area by forming them into honest and responsible citizens of our mother land. May it stand as a beacon of growth and development in this area.
we envisage to provide quality education to the youth of this area, molding them into honest and responsible citizens. To reach out to the youth from the rural, tribal and distant regions we started the hostels for the boys and girls.
